Burial*She was buried in Beaver Creek Plantation, Henry, Virginia; HIS SECOND WIFE, AMERICA HAIRSTON FEB. 21, 1801 - MAR. 16, 1826, MARRIED JAN. 14, 1821, TENTH CHILD & FIRST DAUGHTER OF COL. GEORGE & ELIZABETH LETCHER (NEE PERKINS) HAIRSTON.2

 
Death Father*America Hairston's father, George Stovall Hairston, died on 5 March 1827. George Stovall Hairston left the following to his daughter America Hairston in his will dated 7 March 1826 and made changes in a codicil after her death, dated 27 March 1826;

"I also give and bequeath to my daughter America Calloway my Blackberry Tract land, Sumpter Tract land, adjoining the same, the tract land on the opposite side the river I had of Joseph Numm, also two hundred seventy- seven acres on Horsepasture Creek where the Bull Mountain Road crosses said creek, one hundred seven acres joining Going land now ? all the negroes, stocks and all the implements that was on the plantation at the time of her marriage, also my one plantation in Patrick County about fifteen hundred acres including the mill thereon with all the negroes thereon, stocks of all kinds, oxen, cart, horse, tools and implements of every kind to her and her heirs forever."

"A Codicil to this my last will and Testament I hereby revoke all that part of my Estate heretofore given to my daughter America Callaway as she is dead and by the presents give and bequeath all my land given my deceased daughter to George Callaway her son on Blackberry Creek Sumpler Tract the lands on the opposite side the river I had of Joseph Num also one hundred seven acres land adjoining Young line now Bakers also two hundred seventy-seven acres on the head waters of Horsepasture creek where it crosses as the Bull mountain road all use joining each other, also all the negroes also all the negroes & there increase that was on said plantation at my inter marriage with John Callaway, all the stocks and utensils which I have before willed to her and further it is my will & desire that his father John Callaway have the whole & sole management of his estate until his said son George arrives to twenty one years of age, at which time the whole of the estate given up to him by whomsoever may then have ? must thereof to him and his heirs forever. Also, I give and bequeath to Ruth Callaway now about one year of age, daughter of my deceased daughter America my one plantation in Patrick County about fifteen hundred acres with all the negroes thereon, oxen, carts, all kind of stock and tools thereon as I have heretofore given my deceased daughter America to her & her heirs forever & further that her Father John Callaway have the management of his daughter Ruth's estate in the same manner as is stated in her brother George's estate, only that she to receive her estate at her marriage or at the age of eighteen years and further it is my will and desire either of these children die without issue that the surviving one receive and heir the whole of the aforesaid estate and further if it should so happen that both die without issue the whole of said estate to be brought up to be equally divided among all my surviving children and their heirs and it is my further will and desire that Marshall Hairston divide all my dwelling house furniture with his sister Ruth Hairston." - Henry County Will Book #3, pages 159-166.
