Death Father*Ruth Hairston's father, George Stovall Hairston, died on 5 March 1827. George Stovall Hairston left the following to his daughter Ruth Hairston;

"I also give & bequeath to my daughter Ruth the lands hereafter described to begin at Martin's line on Smith River Bank to go down the river as it meanders to the mouth of Marrowbone Creek and across at the mouth to John Bugeses line and with his line to his brother Davis Burgess line to Hewlett line to my Mitchel Place line on the river bank and across the said Smith River to the line of the land I had of Keys' estate on Middle Creek to Bernard's Line to a branch thence with that line to a seventy acre tract land I had of Michel on the north side of Smith River with that line down to the river and across said river to the mouth of Turkey Lock Creek and up said Creek with Chowning line to Gilley's line with his line to Hewlett's line and said Thomas Wilson's line, a direct course to the main road leading from Marrowbone Store to Morgan ford and up said road to Burchel's old field where her brother George's line comes, thence along the road toward my Marrowbone mill that divides her land and her brother George's to Allen Redd's and Cole's line to the Mumm's with his one to Cole's to Reamey's line round to Leaksville road with the Leakesville road into the Marrowbone road to Garland place along that road as the line goes to Martin's place line and with that line to the beginning on the river bank, also my Graves place on the river adjoining Martin and Fountain, also the two hundred acres land I purchased of Washington Rowland, with three hundred acres heretofore reserved out of the mountain tract to add to it also a tract adjoining this & James Redd of one hundred nineteen acres all the lands I claim or have a right to in the aforesaid boundaries, including all the plantations and mill thereon, also a tract on the north side Smith River to begin at the mouth of the creek below the roundabout where George Hairston boundary comes too and with his line toward the courthouse to where it corners and thence a line to strike Rugg Creek where Waller Redd's line crosses said creek & thence down said creek with his line to Turkey Pen branch and on with his line to said Rugg Creek and down said creek as it meanders to where Redd's line crosses said creek and with his line to Smith River and up the same as it meanders to the beginning, with all the negroes slaves on the said plantations, with all carts, oxen, horses, stocks of all kinds & tools every kind of utensils and necessaries of every kind on the said lands, Milley, Grace's daughter & her increase, also Dils at Lan ? place and all her children only Daniel and Mamy otherwise ? also Isham and Lucinda & Peyton her child with all their increase and her and her heirs forever." - Henry County Will Book #3, pages 159-166. Death*Ruth Stovall HAIRSTON died on 20 September 1838 at age 34.3

 
Burial*She was buried in Beaver Creek Plantation, Henry, Virginia.
