Birth*Hugh HAIRSTON was born before 1748 in Virginia. This date is based on Hugh Hairston being 21 or older when he witnessed the February 1769 deed of Robert Harper.2 
He was the son of Andrew HAIRSTON and Elizabeth (surname unknown).1

MarriageHugh HAIRSTON was the surety of the marriage of Martha "Patsy" HAIRSTON and Alexander HUNTER on 3 June 1769 in Bedford, Virginia; Hugh Hairston (son of Andrew, Martha's uncle), Surety. With the consent of Robert & Ruth Hairston. page 938.4,5,6,7 
WillAndrew Hairston signed his will on 8 August 1771 and mentions his wife Elizabeth, sons; Peter and Hugh, daughters; Teney, Kitteran, Elizabeth, Precila, Ellenar, Margaret and Susana. He appoints his brother Samuel as his executor. However, Andrew Hairston did not die until 1782 and his sons Peter and Hugh had already died.1 
Death*Hugh Hairston died about September 1778. His death was noted in the 28 September 1778 Bedford County Court Order Book 6, pages 187-188. "An inventory of the estate of Hugh Hairston Dec'd. ret' Lord." "Rich. Stith, Samuel Hairston & John Hunter Gt. are appointed to state & settle an acc. of the Estate of Hugh Hairston Dec'd. Andrew Hairston Admin."8,2
Probate*"An inventory of the Estate of Hugh Hairstons apraised by us the Subscribers being first Sworn - 1 bay mare, 1 colt, 1 bridle, 1 hammer, 1 pair compasses, 1 ?, 1 small book. In William Markams hands. Signed by Joseph Tweedy, David Roser and Jonathan Roser." In a Court held for Bedford County 28th day September 1778. Bedford County, Virginia - Will Book 1, page 325
