"Robert A. Wilson, Esq., one of the largest land-owners and wealthiest planters in Pittsylvania county, died this morning at his residense, Dan's Hill, at 7 o'clock. Mr. Wilson had been sick about ten days, and the end was not thought to be so near until yesterday. The deceased was born in the county and has lived at the old homestead all of his life." - Richmond Dispatch, Sunday, July 17, 1892, page 3.
