On Tuesday 16th inst., Wm A. Shelby, having his right mind, and being conscious that he had but a short time to live, made the following request in our presence. He said, he wished Mrs. Shelby, his wife, to hold possession of every thing during her natural life, and at her death, he desired his property to be divided equally between his children, excepting the land, in which he wished his grandson Wm A. L. McFarland to have an equal share with his children. He stated that he had given some of his children more than he had to the others, which he desired to come in as a portion of their part.
