Birth*Thomas DRAKE was born about 1761 in Virginia.1 
Marriage*He married Catherine "Caty" Vaughan, daughter of George Vaughan, on 12 August 1802 in Brunswick, Virginia. Joshua Vaughan attested to Caty Vaughan's age. In her Revolutionary War pension Catherine states that Thomas Drake was previously married in 1793 and had children by that marriage. - FSL #4157928 image 483, #7578837 image 26 and 268.1 
Court Record*On 9 January 1804, Thomas Drake is the guarantee for the marriage of John High Vaughan and Rebecca Drake. Brunswick Marraige Register. FSL #7578837, image 279. 
Tax Rolls*1812 - Bedford County Tax List. 
Deed*On 18 August 1815, Thomas Drake and his wife Catherine(of Bedford county Tenn.), heirs of George Vaughan deceased, sell land they inherited to Merrit Davis. Catherine Vaughan Drake inherited this peoperty from her father George Vaughan. - Brunswick County Virginia Deed Book 23, page 30. FSL #8190029, image 41. 
Census 1830*Thomas DRAKE appeared on the census of 1830 in Bedford, Tennessee, Tho. Drake - Males 15-20 1, 20-30 1, 70-80 1, Females under 5 3, 15-20 2, 20-30 1. William and Robert Thogmorten on on the same census page. Thomas Drake had a daughter Elizabeth that married a Thogmorten.2
Property*On February 3, 1835, James Erwin of Fayette County, Kentucky sold land in Bedford County to Thomas Drake for $125. Family History Library Film #008150803, images 246-247.

This property was sold by Thomas Drake, Jr. to his sister Elizabeth on 11 October 1835. It appears that the date of Thomas Drake's death in the revolutionary war pension application is incorrect and should be 13 August 1835.

NOTE*GENEALOGY NOTES: There is a possible DNA link between the Hairston family and the Drake/Vaughan family. - An Ephraim Drake received 275 acres on 24 September 1807 for service by James Overton to the State of North Carolina, warrant 835 12 May 1784. Bedford County Tennessee Book A page 188. FSL #8150818, image 115.
