NOTE*GENEALOGY NOTES: Who were his parents? There are very few known records relating to John Constant Hairston (Harston). The 1840 census and the marriage license spells his surname HAIRSTON and other documents HARSTON and HARSTIN. The only place the name John Constant appears is on his daughter Malinda's death certificate that was filed by an unknown person. Documents state the daughter Melinda was born in 1839, but no young females are listed in 1840 census. It could have been a census error, incorrect birthday, etc..

Constantine named his son Green Hardin, possibly in honor of Hardin Hairston. Constantine names his daughter Malinda, posibly after John Adams Hairston's wife.

The 1840 census shows Constantine Hairston was born between 1811 and 1820, about the same time as John Adams Hairston's brother Constantine died in 1819.

Recent Y-DNA test results of a descendant of Constantine Hairston match several documented Hairston male descendants.
