Military*Samuel Harden Hairston - Fourth Sergeant, mustered on the 15 February 1861 at Crawfordsville, Mississippi, in the Prairie Guards, he was 30. He was discharged on 3 October 1861 with chronic rheumatism and was described as six feet 2 inches tall, dark hair, fair complextion and blue eyes.6 
WillIn Hardin HAIRSTON's will dated 29 September 1862 in Lowndes County, Mississippi, Samuel Harden HAIRSTON was named as an heir; Hardin Hairston left a will dated 29 September 1862, Lowndes County Courthouse, Mississippi, Will Book 1, page 122. PDF transcript and a copy of will attached.7
