He was the son of Judge Samuel MCDOWELL and Mary McCLUNG.1 
Marriage*Dr. Ephraim McDOWELL married Sarah SHELBY, daughter of Govenor Isaac SHELBY and Suzannah HART, in 1802.3,1,2
