HAIRSTON CEMETERY - OLD FORT MAYO

Mr. O. E. Pilson located four graves at a site near Old Fort Mayo in Patrick County, Virginia in 1979.  These graves are infant children of Hardin Hairston and his wife Elizabeth Perkins.  These children died before the family moved to Mississippi.

Fort Mayo was the southernmost fort built in the French and Indian Wars (1754-1763).
