Census 1860*Miss M. J. Witherspoon 22 MS $24,000, A. E. Witherspoon 37 SC $17,000 and W. L. Witherspoon 29 SC $32,000, all living in the Cady's Hotel, Columbus, Mississippi. Hotel owned owned by William Cady 44 and from New York.2 
Marriage*Mary Jane Witherspoon married Thomas G. Blewett Jr. on 24 April 1867 in Lowndes, Mississippi.3 
Death*Mary Jane Witherspoon died on 16 October 1876.4 
Burial*She was buried in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, Lowndes, Mississippi.
