Newspaper"DISTRESSING ACCIDENT. A gentleman of this town, just from Crawfordsville, informs us of a most distressing misfortune that has befallen the family of Rev. Peter Crawford, living at Crawfordsville, in Lowndes county. In the afternoon on Monday last, Miss Louisa Crawford had occasion to go near a fire that was burning in the yard. Her dress caught fire, when she was instantly enveloped in flames. Her eldest sister (Ann) immediately went to her assistance, when her clothes also caught, and she was instantly a blaze, from her waist to her head. Luisa died about 9 o'clock on Monday night, and Ann was so severly burned that there were no hopes of her living. Their father and mother had left home the morning of the same day for Montgomery, Alabama. They were most accomplished young ladies, and their awful and untimely death produces a deep and heartfelt sympathy in the neighborhood. Macon (Miss.)
