Military*Artemus Jennings Ervin enlisted 19 May 1861 at harpers ferry, Virginia, with Company E, 11th Mississippi Regiment, CSA. He was wounded at Gettysburg on 3 July 1863. He was wounded again at he the Weldon Railroad 18 August 1864. He was shot on 19 April 1865. He was desribed as six feet tall, dark complextion, dark hair and dark eyes. 
Marriage*Capt. Artemus Jennings ERVIN married Elizabeth Holly ERVIN, daughter of William Ethelbert ERVIN and Sarah McGee KENNEDY, on 29 September 1864 in Lowndes County, Mississippi; By Rev. A. H. Bartley.6
