The 1860 Federal Census for Robert Daniel Higdon: The 1860 census of R. D. Higdon shows a male "J. Higdon 18" and female "J. Higdon 5". If you compare the handwriting you can see that the daughter's name starts with an "S", not a "J". Also, the family listed next to R. D. Higdon is F. Blankenship.



The 1900 Census for Jacob W. Higdon is on 2 census pages as follows: In 1900 Federal Census, Joseph P. Blankenship, the son of John and Sena Blankenship, is listed as the nephew of Jacob W. Higdon, the son of Robert Daniel Higdon. Therefore, Jacob W. Higdon had a sister who married a Blankenship and they had a son named Joseph Blankenship. The father of Jacob W. Higdon and Sena Higdon Blankenship was Robert D. Higdon.2,3,1
