Obituary*FUNERAL OF MR. S. S. HAIRSTON
The body of Mr. S. S. Hairston, a former resident of Lowndes county, and who died at a hospital in Yazoo City, was brought to Columbus yesterday for burial, arriving at two o'clock over the Southern Railway.
Mr. Hairston was a member of one of the most prominent families of Lowndes county and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. Years ago he moved to the Delta and had resided in Silver City for a number of years.
He leaves a wife and two children to mourn his death. A surviving him are four brothers, George Hairston of Demopolis, A Mr. Hugh Hairston of this city; Robert Hairston of Georgia; L. William Hairston, who is in France and one sister, Mrs. C. D. S. Bragg of the Delta. Deceased was 49 years of age.
Funeral services were held at grave, conducted by Rev. W. Frierson, Sr. The following bearers officiated: Messrs. C Evans, W. E. Frazee, I. F. Swo.... B. Hardy, J. A. Watson and M. S. Chandler.
