He married Mary Watt HAIRSTON, daughter of Nicholas Edward HAIRSTON and Kiziah C. STAPLES, on 7 Dec 1879 in Lowndes County, MS. Mary Watt died shortly after giving birth to their daughter Kizzie. Five years later he married Virginia Antoinette ERVIN, daughter of Edwin Alexander ERVIN and Virginia Pou JENNINGS, on 22 Jan 1885. Virginia also died after giving birth in 1890. Thirteen years later he married Ela May Ledbetter THARP on 26 Oct 1898. George Hairston died on 2 Dec 1941 at his home in Crawford, Lowndes County, Mississippi at the age 84. He was buried at Oaklimb Cemetery in Crawford. Children:
